Georgia-Based Corporations Need to Hear from US!

Last week, a full page ad appeared in the Atlanta Journal Constitution, paid for by the Black Voters Matter Fund, in collaboration with the Georgia NAACP, The New Georgia Project, and Georgia Stand-Up. The ad implored voters to contact Georgia businesses to ask for their help and support in fighting the many suppressive and unnecessary bills currently making their way through the GA legislature.

To help in this mission, please contact the following GA-based businesses and let them know we need their power, money, and sway to augment our voices in this battle.

A suggested script for this purpose might be, "Hello! I'm a registered voter in the state of Georgia and am glad that >INSERT BUSINESS NAME< has elected to call Georgia its home base. I am calling today to ask you to lend your support in speaking out against the Georgia Senate Bills 202 and 241, as well as the Georgia House Bill 531, all of which are designed to suppress voters' rights and silence our voices through the use of a variety of tactics including eliminating no-excuse absentee voting, limiting ballot box drop hours, removing bi-partisan county Boards of Election, and a host of other equally egregious items. Throughout our nation's history, we have fought, marched, and died for the right to vote, and we'll continue to fight mightily to ensure that this right is never taken away from ANY of us. But we need your support in this fight, just like we support YOU through our purchases and patronage. Please join us in ensuring that everyone has an equal and fair opportunity to vote, and make your voice heard by speaking out against these bills."
